#15 guernsey returns from retirement

The number 15 guernsey at Yeronga has been retired since 1984. This was a gesture done in honour of the late David Gibson (pictured) who died of Cancer in 1980. Dave played 178 games for the club and was considered one of the toughest players to wear the red and black. Whether in a game or at training he attack on the ball was unmatched and whether an opponent or teammate, if you were in the way, you were getting taken out.

The club has decided that each year the captain of the club will wear the #15 guernsey. This year that honour goes to Jake Thomlinson who, in the past two weekends, is the first to wear the #15 since David passed away. This guernsey will hopefully become a legacy of David and will inspire those that play in it to be as fierce at the contest as he was and to inspire the devils to great things.
