The sun appeared in the skies above Yeronga as almost 2000 fans rolled up to Cansdale Street for the Brisbane Lions’ Family Fun Day.
During a typically hot and humid Summer day in Brisbane, the event provided an excellent opportunity to showcase the great facilities on offer at Yeronga.
Features of the day included the Jumper Presentation for all Lions’ players, plus several interviews of high profile club identities. There was also plenty of entertainment for the kids, whilst the band played on the main stage.
Perhaps the highlight of the day was to see the Brisbane coaching staff take on a local AFL9’s team, a game that drew the attention of most people at the ground. It was brilliant to see Michael Voss, Gary O’Donnell, Shane Woewodin, plus many more run across the lush fields of Leyshon Park. Commentary from Jamie Charman also add to the entertainment.
All the Lions’ players were great ambassadors for the club throughout the day. We wish them great success in 2012.
